How to fall asleep faster without scrolling
The phone is the hardest bedtime habit to break. These swaps make it a lot easier.
You get into bed tired. You check your phone "for a second." It's now 12:40 and you know far too much about a stranger's kitchen renovation. Sound familiar?
Move the charger
This is the single biggest change you can make. Charge your phone outside the bedroom, or at least across the room. If it's your alarm, a simple alarm clock is the best few dollars you'll spend all year.
Replace the scroll
Your hands want something to do. Keep a paperback, a journal or a crossword on your nightstand so there's an easy alternative.
Make bed the reward
When your bed is genuinely comfortable (cool sheets, a pillowcase that feels lovely on your face), getting into it feels like the end of the day instead of a pause before more screen time.
Your bed should be the best part of your night, not the place you check email.
Try a body scan
Lie on your back. Start at your toes and slowly notice each part of your body, letting it go soft. Plenty of people never make it past their knees.
Keep the same hours
Same bedtime, same wake-up time, even on weekends. It's boring, and it works better than any trick.
The short version
Charge your phone elsewhere, keep a book by the bed, make your bed lovely and keep consistent hours.
